On 1 January 2017, Chermignon and three other former municipalities merged to form Crans-Montana. Today the municipality groups the villages of Chermignon, Mollens, Montana and Randogne, in the Sierre district. Its land reaches from the Rhone plain to the Plaine-Morte glacier, at almost 3,000 m.
